The expert in watchmaking mechanics
Benoit Montfort, founder
Benoît has a sharp eye for everything that has to do with beautiful mechanics and bodywork, which are rather old.
He even arrived in a 2CV on his first day as an engineer in his car company.
Although he is not a watchmaking expert per se, Benoît stands out for his skills as an outstanding mechanic.
He transmits his energy to give a second life to all the objects he encounters, from the repair of his MAC to his vintage Peugeot tandem.
Benoît coordinates the creation of the Perseus so that you can achieve your fulfillment in the construction of your own timepiece.
He is our conductor, he masterfully coordinates our thirty manufacturing partners and our team of experts.

The watchmaking expert at the service of the experience
Thierry Ducret, Meilleur Ouvrier de France
“It’s quite surprising how, as a child, I got into watchmaking; my grandfather, a watchmaker, ran a workshop on Belleville-sur-Saône; Despite the interest in his activity, small children were forbidden to enter his workspace.
It was only when he died that I was able to enter: at that time, there was no doubt about it, I wanted to become a watchmaking expert!
Despite several decades of experience, I am still as passionate as ever!
It is one of the rare professions where you spend hours and days on parts that, at first inert, end up giving birth to a watchmaking mechanism.
It’s always so moving to see all these pieces come to life in the form of a watch or a clock.
Although I studied at the Lycée de Morteau in the 80s, it was only about fifteen years later that I returned there, to the other side of the workbench, to pass on my knowledge and know-how in watchmaking.
Here again, what a joy to see these young people so motivated!
Thierry, in addition to being a renowned watchmaking expert, is also a Meilleur Ouvrier de France in watchmaking, a mission to transmit watchmaking excellence!

“There are two things I often tell students:
– It’s so addictive that you never look at what time it is.
– In watchmaking, you save time by taking your time. »
The watchmaking precursor
Antoine Tschumi, Swiss designer
Antoine is a creative by nature, he likes to design desirable products in line with the soul of a brand.
He marvels as much at the raw texture of an Impressionist painting as at the delicacy of a sculpture.
An expert in watch design, he has been able to breathe new life into a product perceived as obsolete, the clock.
A nod to the traditional hourglass in vertical position or in horizontal position for a more modern version, Persée will have a place of choice in your interior.
Its visible movement, a symbol of the mastery of time, is the technical prowess of its watchmaking expertise… His drawing has become your Perseus!

The watchmaking expert, builder of time
Jean-Marie Desgrange, professor of watchmaking
“My first passion is the practice of jazz piano in a group.
Rather Cartesian I admit, I have always been interested in mechanical science and technology, as well as astronomy.
As a child, I loved to create, invent and I am still hungry for knowledge.
I also like to renovate and repair to give life to objects that have become obsolete.
For all these reasons, I oriented my student training in microtechnology and robotics and started working in research and development.
At several times, I was able to seize opportunities that made my career evolve, towards teaching in micromechanical construction, then in watchmaking.
Passionate about what is new and inaccessible to me, I was quickly seduced by watchmaking.
I naturally passed this passion on to my son.”
What a well of knowledge!
From the design of the computer-assisted movement to the transmission of watchmaking history in the book, Jean-Marie, an expert in watchmaking, has given all his heart to share his passion with you.
With his expertise as a teacher and the knowledge of the difficulties encountered by his students, he is part of our team of experts who contribute to the development of the Maison Alcée watch movement in order to be assembled by a layman.
